Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse Demo Is Live: Save Transfer, Platforms and October 15 Release
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse now has a free playable demo, giving players a chance to start the opening chapter before the full game launches on October 15, 2026. KONAMI has also confirmed that eligible demo progress can carry into the full release.
For anyone deciding whether to jump in at launch, here is what to know about the demo, supported platforms, save transfer requirements and the game itself.
Where can you play the Belmont’s Curse demo?
The free demo is available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. It covers the opening chapter and is designed as an early look at the game’s 2D action-exploration gameplay.
- PS5: 6 GB minimum required capacity
- Xbox Series X|S: 5 GB
- Steam: 4 GB
- Nintendo Switch: 3 GB

Does the demo save transfer to the full game?
Yes, but there are several requirements worth knowing before you start. KONAMI says the demo and full game must be played on the same platform and same account. Players also need to retain their demo save data, and the full version must be updated to the latest version when the save is transferred.
KONAMI notes that certain features and content are restricted in the demo, so it should not be treated as a complete representation of everything available in the final release.
When does Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse release?
The full game launches October 15, 2026. It is an exploration-based 2D action game developed by KONAMI and Evil Empire, with Motion Twin serving in an advisory role.

Where does Belmont’s Curse fit in the Castlevania timeline?
The story takes place in Paris in 1499, 23 years after the events of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. Rose Belmont, daughter of Trevor Belmont, explores the burning streets of Paris and Dracula’s castle while using weapons and abilities that include the Belmont family’s sacred Vampire Killer whip.
The release also arrives during Castlevania’s 40th-anniversary year. The original Castlevania debuted in 1986.
Performance and full-game storage
KONAMI lists the full game at 60 fps on supported PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC versions, while the Nintendo Switch version is listed at 30 fps. Minimum required capacity for the Standard Edition is 8 GB on the other listed platforms and 4 GB on Nintendo Switch; the Midnight Edition is listed at 10 GB and 6 GB respectively.
What is included with the Midnight Edition?
KONAMI says the digital or physical Midnight Edition includes alternate costumes for Rose Belmont, a Digital Sound & Art Gallery and an in-game relic. Pre-ordering or making an eligible early purchase of any edition also includes an Alucard-style costume for Rose.
For players who are unsure about buying at launch, the demo is the simplest way to test the combat, movement and exploration while preserving the option to continue that save in the full game.
