EA SPORTS FC 27 Launches Today: Platforms, The Grounds, Career Mode and What’s New
EA SPORTS FC 27 launches worldwide today, September 25, 2026, bringing EA’s football series to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The new release adds The Grounds, a rebuilt Career Mode transfer market, the FUT Gallery and a sizable refresh to licensed leagues, clubs and stadiums.
For anyone deciding whether to jump in at launch, here are the changes that matter most.
EA SPORTS FC 27 platforms and launch date
EA confirmed September 25 as the worldwide release date. Ultimate Edition and Ultimate Plus Edition players received up to seven days of early access beginning September 18.
The full game is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. EA notes that some features—including The Grounds and its Clubs integration—are limited to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2.
EA is also releasing FC 27 Lite, a free downloadable preview with selected modes such as Kick Off. EA lists the Lite release for September 25 at 16:00 UTC on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, the EA app, Steam and Epic Games Store.
The Grounds is FC 27’s biggest new social mode
The Grounds expands the Clubs experience into a social football playground built around casual kickabouts as well as competitive play. Players can explore three districts inspired by football heritage, develop and personalize their footballer, and receive guidance from mentors including Kylian Mbappé, Chloe Kelly, Paulo Dybala and Alex Hunter.
That makes The Grounds more than a menu-level addition: it is EA’s attempt to create a persistent social space around player progression and Clubs-style football.
Career Mode gets a rebuilt transfer market
Manager Career’s transfer market has been rebuilt with technology from TransferRoom. EA says player values now respond to factors including club buying power, potential, ratings and form.
Players can also encounter dynamic bidding wars, new negotiation tactics and more strategic recruitment from rival clubs.
Football Ultimate Team adds the FUT Gallery
Football Ultimate Team introduces the FUT Gallery, where players can curate their club and complete Sets built from past and present Player Items across clubs, leagues, nations and FUT campaigns. Completing and grading Sets increases Gallery Level and earns rewards.
Across modes, EA also lists gameplay changes including dynamic corners, stronger attacking awareness and rebalanced AI defending.

More licensed clubs, leagues and stadiums
FC 27’s authenticity package is extensive. EA says the game includes more than 21,000 players, 800 clubs and national teams, 140 stadiums and 35 leagues, supported by more than 300 football partners.
Notable additions and returns include:
- Liga BBVA MX, returning with all 18 clubs.
- S.S. Lazio, bringing EA’s total of officially licensed Serie A clubs to 17.
- New or renewed relationships involving Aston Villa, Liverpool, the Bundesliga, ROSHN Saudi League and A-League.
- Newly recreated stadiums including Stade Louis II, Estadio Carlos Tartiere and Legia Warsaw Municipal Stadium.
- Reconstructed versions of Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium and VfB Stuttgart’s MHPArena.
- Launch-day stadiums for promoted Premier League clubs Ipswich Town, Hull City and Coventry City.

Which major competitions are licensed?
EA lists the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Conference League, UEFA Women’s Champions League, CONMEBOL Libertadores, Premier League, Bundesliga and LALIGA EA SPORTS among FC 27’s licensed competitions and leagues.
The Premier League package includes all 20 clubs, managers, stadiums, kits and pundit commentary, according to EA.

What to know before buying FC 27
The biggest distinction is platform. Buyers on older hardware should not assume every advertised feature is present: EA specifically limits The Grounds, including Clubs integration, to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2.
Players mainly interested in traditional matches can also try FC 27 Lite before purchasing the complete game on supported non-Nintendo platforms. Career players have a materially redesigned transfer system to evaluate, while Ultimate Team players have the new Gallery progression layer alongside the usual seasonal squad-building loop.
For returning players, FC 27’s launch is therefore less about a single headline mechanic and more about several targeted changes across social play, Career, Ultimate Team, gameplay and licensing.
