God of War Laufey Pre-Orders Open September 29: Bonuses, Deluxe Edition and New Combat Details

God of War Laufey pre-orders open September 29 at 10:00 a.m. local time, giving PlayStation 5 players their first chance to lock in Santa Monica Studio’s next God of War release ahead of its February 16, 2027 launch.

Sony’s latest update also details the pre-order bonus, Digital Deluxe Edition extras, and new gameplay information centered on Faye’s Serpent Bow and combat customization.

Pre-orders for God of War Laufey begin September 29, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. local time. The game is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 on February 16, 2027.

What comes with the pre-order bonus?

Players who pre-order before launch will receive several in-game items:

  • Last Wish Armor Set
  • Phranque Golden Leaves Appearance cosmetic
  • In-game resource pack

Sony notes that some items unlock through normal story progression. For the physical Standard Edition, the pre-order bonus is delivered by download code and requires an internet connection and PlayStation account.

Faye’s Serpent Bow adds two aiming styles

The newest gameplay details focus on Faye’s Serpent Bow, an enchanted weapon designed to switch quickly between ranged pressure and close-range combo play.

Full-aim mode gives Faye more precise aim and increased draw distance. Targeting specific parts of an enemy can impair movement or attacks, and a fully charged bow can stack up to five arrows for a stronger volley.

Half-aim mode is a more mobile hip-fire stance built for close-range pressure. In this mode, Faye can fire clusters of arrows and use quick shots to help juggle airborne enemies and extend combos.

Weapon and armor customization

Faye will be able to use different arrow types, including rapid-fire, explosive, and multi-target options. Serpent Bow Scales can also change the bow’s appearance and provide different gameplay perks.

Beyond the bow, armor can alter stats and perks, while other customizable equipment includes Faye’s sword Blade, Bow Scales, and Catalysts—artifacts that provide different magical effects.

What to watch next

The September 28 update gives players more concrete information about combat and editions, but Santa Monica Studio says more details are still coming before launch. For now, the key dates are September 29 for pre-orders and February 16, 2027 for the PS5 release.
