MTG Reality Fracture Commander Deck Revealed: Multiverse Reforged Decklist and Release Date
Wizards of the Coast revealed the complete Multiverse Reforged Commander decklist on September 16, giving Magic: The Gathering players their clearest look yet at the ready-to-play Commander product arriving with Reality Fracture.
The deck is led by Jace, Multiverse Architect, a four-color planeswalker, and leans into Reality Fracture’s Echoverse concept by presenting alternate-reality versions of familiar Magic characters.

What Comes in Multiverse Reforged?
According to Wizards, each Multiverse Reforged Commander product contains a ready-to-play 100-card deck. The package includes a traditional-foil borderless face commander, a traditional-foil borderless featured commander, 98 non-foil cards, 10 double-sided non-foil tokens, a reference card and a deck box.
The headline number for deck builders is 16 new-to-Magic cards. That makes the reveal relevant beyond players who simply want a preconstructed deck: those new designs can potentially become pieces for other Commander builds as players begin testing the set.
Jace Leads a Very Different Multiverse
Reality Fracture is built around the Echoverse, a mirrored reality created by Jace Beleren where the histories—and sometimes identities—of well-known characters have changed. Wizards’ September 16 story material describes the set as a clash between familiar Multiverse figures and their altered counterparts.

The Commander deck makes that premise immediately visible. Wizards specifically calls out a mono-white Ob Nixilis, a mono-black Avacyn and a colorless Omnath among the new-to-Magic cards. The full list also includes names such as Nissa, Leyline Tamer; Dack Fayden, Helping Hand; Jhoira, Weatherlight Corsair; Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel; Tamiyo, Upriser Crowned; and Darksteel Angel.
Notable Returning Commander Staples
The precon is not composed only of new cards. The published decklist includes recognizable Commander pieces such as:
- Sol Ring
- Arcane Signet
- Command Tower
- Path to Exile
- Swords to Plowshares
- Brainstorm
- Flawless Maneuver
- Fabled Passage
- Reflecting Pool
That mix of established utility cards and new Echoverse designs should make the deck interesting both as an out-of-the-box build and as a source of cards for upgrades. Exactly how strong the new cards prove to be will require real play after release, so early power-level claims should be treated cautiously.
There Is an Important Token Printing Note
Wizards also disclosed a production detail players should know before buying. Initial copies of Multiverse Reforged include a 3/3 blue Angel token rather than the 4/4 white Angel token created by Ob Nixilis, the Ascended.
Wizards says later printings of the Commander deck will contain the correct 4/4 white Angel token. The correct token can also be found in Reality Fracture Collector Boosters. This affects the included token, not the function of the Ob Nixilis card itself.
Reality Fracture Release and Prerelease Dates
Reality Fracture officially releases October 2, 2026. Players will not necessarily have to wait until then to get cards in hand, however. Wizards has scheduled Reality Fracture Prerelease events for September 25 through October 1, and participating local game stores can allow customers to pick up eligible preordered Reality Fracture products beginning September 25 while supplies are available.
Wizards says each Prerelease Pack contains six Reality Fracture Play Boosters, one traditional-foil promo card, a deck box and a Spindown die.
What Commander Players Should Watch Next
The full decklist gives players time to evaluate the mana base, identify upgrade paths and see which of the 16 new cards might have homes outside the precon. The broader Reality Fracture card image gallery is still being updated during preview season, with Wizards saying the complete gallery is scheduled for September 18.
For Commander players, the most useful approach is to separate confirmed deck contents from early speculation. The complete 100-card list is now official; the deck’s actual power level, upgrade ceiling and secondary-market impact will become clearer once players can test it.
