MTG Star Trek Collector Guide: 7 Signed Cards, LCARS Lands & Prices

Updated October 21, 2026. Wizards of the Coast's October 20 Star Trek buyer's guide and official collecting guide explain the special card treatments and sealed products in Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek. The crossover releases in tabletop stores on November 13, 2026, with prerelease events beginning November 6.

Collectors should pay close attention to which booster types can contain actor-signed cards, LCARS lands and stardates reprints. Not every treatment is available in every pack.

Seven actor-signed cards: how rare are they?

Wizards confirms seven distinct cards physically signed by Star Trek actors, with fewer than 250 copies of each. They are randomly inserted into Collector Boosters only. They are genuine hand-signed cards, not printed facsimile signatures.

Signed cards can appear in Collector Boosters sold in different languages, but the signed cards themselves are printed in English. Their scarcity does not guarantee one in a pack or booster box; never treat a signed pull as an expected return on a purchase.

LCARS shock lands: Play vs. Collector Boosters

All ten shock lands appear in LCARS-themed treatments inspired by Starfleet computer interfaces. Non-foil and traditional-foil LCARS shock lands can appear in both Play Boosters and Collector Boosters. The surge-foil LCARS versions are exclusive to Collector Boosters.

If your goal is the LCARS visual style rather than a particular finish, Play Boosters can be a lower-cost way to open eligible cards, though no specific land is guaranteed.

30 stardates reprints and format legality

The release also includes 30 stardates cards that reinterpret existing Magic cards using Star Trek scenes and characters. Non-foil stardates can appear in Play and Collector Boosters, while traditional-foil versions appear only in Collector Boosters. Wizards highlights reprints including Kenrith, the Returned King and Minamo, School at Water's Edge.

These cards use the SDS set code. A special treatment does not independently change a reprinted card's format legality; check the official card database and format rules before tournament play.

Which sealed product should collectors buy?

  • Play Boosters: For drafting and opening the main set, including eligible LCARS lands and non-foil stardates.
  • Collector Boosters: For exclusive surge-foil LCARS lands, traditional-foil stardates and the chance of a scarce actor-signed card.
  • Commander Decks: Preconstructed decks for multiplayer Commander play.
  • Collector's Edition Commander Decks: Premium versions of the preconstructed decks, with distinct treatments and a higher MSRP.
  • Scene Boxes and bundles: Curated sealed products; compare their exact contents against the official buyer's guide before ordering.

Regional shipping delays: what to know

Wizards has warned that some Star Trek products may arrive late in selected regions. In North America, Commander decks may arrive after the November 13 tabletop release. Other product categories are affected in certain international markets. Confirm availability with your store instead of assuming every configuration launches simultaneously.

See Wizards' regional shipping notice for the most recent product-by-product guidance.

Collector checklist

  • Decide whether you want gameplay cards, a particular treatment or sealed display pieces.
  • Compare MSRP against actual store prices and shipping costs.
  • Understand that signed cards are exceptionally scarce and never guaranteed.
  • Check which booster contains your desired LCARS or stardates finish.
  • Verify Commander deck availability before planning a launch-week event.
