MTG Star Trek Previews: Oct. 20 Schedule & Commander Delays

Updated October 16, 2026. Wizards of the Coast has released the official Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek preview calendar. The first major reveal stream begins Tuesday, October 20, 2026, followed by daily card previews and four Commander deck spotlights through October 29. The publisher also confirmed a significant shipping update: Star Trek Commander decks may arrive after the November 13 tabletop release in North America.

Here's where to watch the new card reveals, when the full gallery will appear, and what players should know before preordering.

When do MTG Star Trek previews start?

The official set debut is scheduled for October 20, 2026 on the Magic: The Gathering YouTube channel and twitch.tv/magic. Wizards says the debut will introduce new cards, mechanics and special card treatments, with a WeeklyMTG aftershow to follow. No exact broadcast start time was provided in the October 16 preview-calendar announcement, so check the official channels for the final stream schedule.

Wizards plans to update the official Star Trek card image gallery on weekday mornings after previews begin. The gallery will contain cards revealed on previous days, not necessarily cards revealed earlier that same day. The complete card image gallery is scheduled for October 30.

Important shipping update: North American Commander decks delayed

In a separate October 16 announcement, Wizards said production and shipping issues are affecting certain Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek products by region. North American Commander decks may arrive after November 13, even though that remains the set's planned tabletop release date.

Wizards says Play Boosters and Prerelease Packs are on track for their planned event windows. In Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific, the affected products vary and can include Collector Boosters, Commander decks, bundles and other configurations. Retailers may receive stock on different dates.

Anyone planning to attend a Commander event or preorder a specific deck should confirm expected delivery with their local game store. Check Wizards' region-by-region delay notice for updates rather than assuming all products arrive together.
