ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet Launch Guide: Switch 2 Saves, Gameplay & Price
October 23, 2026 — ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet is out now, turning the Straw Hat Crew's world into a single-player, pixel-art restaurant management game. Developed by Kairosoft and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, the game lets you build Baratie Number Two, cook with Sanji and serve more than 400 familiar characters.
Before buying on Nintendo Switch or Switch 2, there's one important detail: Nintendo says you cannot upgrade the Switch version to the Switch 2 version, and save data cannot transfer between those versions. Here's the launch breakdown. Nintendo's official store listing spells out the restriction.
ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet release date, platforms and price
- Official North American launch: October 23, 2026, according to Bandai Namco's launch announcement.
- Platforms: Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Windows PC through Steam, iOS and Android.
- PC price: $19.99 on the US Steam storefront when checked October 23. Prices on other platforms and in other regions may differ.
- Developer: Kairosoft Co., Ltd.
- Players: Single-player.
Why might you see October 22 on Steam? Steam's US listing displays an October 22 release date, while Bandai Namco's North American announcement and Nintendo's US listing give October 23. Check your chosen storefront's live availability rather than assuming the date shown on another platform applies to yours.

What do you actually do in Grand Gourmet?
The story starts with an imposter restaurant damaging the Baratie's reputation. Luffy and Sanji respond by opening Baratie Number Two, and you join as a rookie staff member to help build it into a destination worth visiting.
- Cook with Sanji: Find ingredients, develop recipes, combine dishes into set menus and customize the presentation. Recipes include Water-Water Meat BBQ and Sea King Penne Gorgonzola, alongside Devil Fruit-inspired dishes.
- Design the restaurant: Arrange more than 200 furniture and decoration options, including themes inspired by Whole Cake Island and Egghead.
- Serve 400-plus characters: Straw Hats and other ONE PIECE characters can appear as customers or staff. Their food and décor preferences help drive return visits and character events.
- Expand the business: Grow the floating restaurant, discover new ingredients and unlock interactions as you attract regulars.

Switch vs. Switch 2: read this before choosing a version
Nintendo's US listing specifically warns that upgrading from the Nintendo Switch version to the Switch 2 version is not supported. It also says save data cannot be transferred from the Switch version to the Switch 2 version.
That distinction matters if you expect to start on an original Switch and continue your restaurant on Switch 2 later. Although Nintendo describes the Switch version as compatible with Switch 2 hardware, running the Switch version on a Switch 2 is not the same as owning the separate Switch 2 version. Check the version name before purchasing, and avoid buying both by accident.
For the Switch listing, Nintendo identifies TV, tabletop and handheld modes, a one-player experience, touch-screen support and an estimated download size of 347 MB. File size can change with updates.

Is this a fighting game or a management sim?
It's a restaurant management simulation, not a fighting game like ONE PIECE: Pirate Warriors. Its appeal is building and decorating a business, discovering food combinations and meeting recognizable characters in a compact pixel-art presentation. Bandai Namco describes it as a single-player game.
Where to buy and verify launch details
Use the official Bandai Namco game page for platform links and the launch trailer. The Steam listing provides the current PC price and system requirements; the Nintendo US listing is essential reading for Switch and Switch 2 compatibility and save restrictions.
Bottom line: Grand Gourmet is a fresh, lower-stakes take on ONE PIECE built around Sanji's kitchen and the Baratie. The most important purchase decision is choosing the Nintendo version you intend to keep playing, because Nintendo does not support transferring your progress between the two versions.
