Pokémon Champions 2027 Global Challenge I Is Live: Dates, Rules, Archaludon Reward and Championship Points

Pokémon Champions’ first Global Challenge of the 2027 Championship Series is now underway. The 2027 Global Challenge I gives players a chance to compete in official Double Battles, earn Championship Points toward a Pokémon World Championships invitation, and receive an Archaludon participation reward after completing the required matches.

The event began Friday, September 25, 2026, at 02:00 UTC (Thursday, September 24 at 9:00 p.m. CDT) and runs through Monday, September 28 at 01:59 UTC (Sunday, September 27 at 8:59 p.m. CDT). Registration remains open until the same closing time, so eligible players can still enter while the competition is in progress.

2027 Global Challenge I dates and format

  • Entry period: September 18 at 02:00 UTC through September 28 at 01:59 UTC
  • Battle period: September 25 at 02:00 UTC through September 28 at 01:59 UTC
  • Format: Double Battles
  • Rules: Regulation Set M-C
  • Entry path: Battle > Online Competitions > 2027 Global Challenge I

Pokémon says a player’s Battle Team and player information are registered when they enter. Changes made afterward are not automatically reflected in the competition. Before the event starts, entrants can withdraw and re-enter to update that information; after the event period begins, entries cannot be withdrawn.

Archaludon is the participation reward

Players do not need a winning record to qualify for the participation prize. According to the official competition notice, finishing three or more matches with a win or loss during the event period makes a player eligible for the Archaludon reward.

After the competition, eligible players need to check the ranking results under Battle > Online Competitions. The reward can then be claimed from the in-game mailbox.

That makes the event relevant even to players who are not chasing a high placement: completing three qualifying matches is enough to satisfy the stated participation requirement.

Championship Points require extra account setup

Global Challenge I can also award Championship Points toward a Pokémon World Championships invitation. Players who want their result to count for Championship Points need to complete the required competitive-account setup before entering.

The official notice requires competitors seeking points to have a Pokémon Trainer Central account, link that account through the Play! Pokémon Access app, and enter their Pokémon Champions Support ID. The account connection must remain in place until rewards are distributed.

Players who only want to participate in the online competition do not need that Championship Point account linkage.

Age divisions for Global Challenge I

The competition uses three age divisions:

  • Junior: born in or after 2015
  • Senior: born from 2011 through 2014
  • Masters: born in or before 2010

Competitors should also review the detailed in-game rules before locking in a team, especially the eligible-Pokémon list and Regulation Set M-C restrictions.

Why Global Challenge I matters

This is the opening Global Challenge of the 2027 Championship Series, so it gives competitive players an early opportunity to put Regulation Set M-C teams under tournament pressure while earning points toward the season’s biggest event.

It is also unusually accessible for players who simply want to experience an official online competition. Registration stays open during the event, and the Archaludon reward is tied to completing three matches rather than achieving a particular win total.

With the deadline approaching on September 27 in U.S. time zones, players planning to compete for Championship Points should verify their account links before entering and make sure their intended Battle Team is finalized.
