Pokémon GO Wild Area 2026: Nov. 6–15 Dates, Tickets & Max Battles
Pokémon GO Wild Area 2026 starts November 6–8 in Sendai, Japan, and Mexico City, Mexico, before a worldwide event November 14–15. Steel- and Dragon-type Pokémon headline this year's celebration, including the debut of Gigantamax Duraludon and Dynamax Dialga and Palkia. Here's how the in-person and global events differ, what tickets cost, and what to prepare.
Pokémon GO Wild Area 2026 dates and tickets
- Sendai • Tohoku: November 6–8, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Japan Standard Time. A one-day ticket is ¥4,000 including applicable taxes and fees. The special registration process took place in September; check the official ticket page for remaining availability rather than assuming walk-up admission.
- Mexico City: November 6–8, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. local time. A one-day event ticket is MXN$350 before applicable taxes and fees.
- Global: November 14–15, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. local time each day. Basic participation is free; the optional two-day Global ticket is US$11.99.
In-person tickets cover one selected event day, with optional add-ons for additional gameplay days. In-person event gameplay is exclusive to ticket holders. The global weekend is a separate event and does not require travel.
What makes the 2026 event special?
Gigantamax Duraludon debuts in six-star Max Battles. Dynamax Dialga and Dynamax Palkia also make their Pokémon GO debuts. The Global schedule assigns Dialga to Saturday, November 14, and Palkia to Sunday, November 15; Gigantamax Duraludon is featured both days. Shiny encounters are possible but not guaranteed.
At the in-person events, Hisuian Sliggoo can appear in the wild for ticket holders, and evolving it with 100 Goomy Candy yields Hisuian Goodra. The games also feature mighty Pokémon, GO Safari Balls and event-themed encounters. Check each city's official gameplay page for its specific roster and conditions.

What do Global players get for free?
All Trainers can join the November 14–15 Global event without buying a ticket. The official event page lists these bonuses during event hours:
- A chance to obtain GO Safari Balls by spinning PokéStops and Gym Photo Discs.
- Up to three free Raid Passes per day from Gym Photo Discs.
- A daily Max Particle collection limit of 1,600.
- Three GO Snapshot surprise encounters per day.
- Eight-hour Party Play sessions and a chance to find mighty Pokémon on Routes.
Is the $11.99 Global ticket worth it?
The optional ticket adds an increased chance of encountering Shiny Pokémon, exclusive branching Special Research with a Steel- or Dragon-type path, and an encounter with Gigantamax Duraludon with a Special Background. It also increases the daily free Raid Pass allowance to six and the daily Max Particle collection limit to 3,200, plus adds other bonuses.
Ticket holders can attract mighty Latias and Latios using regular Incense during the event; Daily Adventure Incense does not count for this feature. The ticket makes the most sense for players who plan to spend substantial time raiding, hunting Shiny Pokémon or completing the exclusive research. Casual players can still experience the free event.

New features and planning tips
A recent official update confirms that supported Location and Special Backgrounds can appear behind buddy Pokémon on Trainer profiles. The rollout begins November 6 for the two host cities and November 9 for additional backgrounds. Players can also choose private Dynamax Battle groups using a group code.
- Before traveling: Confirm the exact ticketed date and the organizer's city map. A city event ticket is not a three-day pass.
- Before Max Battles: Coordinate a group, check Max Particle availability and prepare suitable powered-up Pokémon.
- Before Global weekend: Decide whether the free bonuses meet your goals before buying the optional ticket.
- For collectors: Watch for event-exclusive Location or Special Backgrounds on eligible catches; these are digital Pokémon GO backgrounds, not physical trading cards.
Bottom line: November 6–8 is for ticketed in-person exploration in Sendai and Mexico City, while November 14–15 brings the Steel- and Dragon-themed action worldwide. If you want both Dynamax Dialga and Palkia during Global, plan for both days.
