Pokémon’s $10,000 Gold Gholdengo Is Real: Price, Size and Yokohama Exhibition Details
Pokémon’s 30th anniversary has produced plenty of collectibles, but one of the newest is made from the real thing: Japanese gold company SGC has unveiled a solid 24-karat gold Gholdengo figure with a planned price of ¥1,540,000.
The small luxury collectible will debut at the Yokohama Great Gold Exhibition at Yokohama Takashimaya, where SGC will also display life-size gold-leaf statues of Gholdengo and Pikachu. The exhibition runs September 30 through October 5, 2026.
How much does the pure-gold Gholdengo cost?
According to SGC’s September 22 announcement, the “K24 Gholdengo” weighs approximately 15 grams, stands about 6 centimeters tall, and has a planned tax-included price of ¥1.54 million.
SGC notes that the price can change with the gold market, so collectors should treat ¥1.54 million as the announced price rather than a permanently fixed retail price.

The choice of Gholdengo is especially fitting. It is National Pokédex No. 1000, its design is built around coins and gold, and its signature Ability is “Good as Gold.”
The life-size Gholdengo uses about 730 sheets of gold leaf
The purchasable K24 figure is only part of the display. SGC has also created a life-size Gholdengo measuring approximately 120 centimeters tall and covered with roughly 730 sheets of gold leaf.
That larger statue is an exhibition piece, not the ¥1.54 million item being sold. This distinction matters because photos of the two very different Gholdengo pieces are circulating together: the solid-gold collectible is about 6 cm tall, while the gold-leaf display is roughly 20 times taller.
Pikachu gets a life-size gold-leaf statue too
SGC is also bringing a life-size Pikachu covered with approximately 200 sheets of gold leaf. The statue is about 40 cm tall, or roughly 50 cm including its ears.
Like the life-size Gholdengo, the Pikachu is being presented as a special display rather than an item announced for general sale.

The Pokémon pieces will appear as part of the Yokohama Great Gold Exhibition, a broader event featuring more than 1,000 gold products and works.

Why this is an unusual Pokémon 30th-anniversary collectible
For collectors, the interesting part is not simply the price. This release sits somewhere between licensed Pokémon merchandise, precious-metal craftsmanship and a luxury art object.
It is also important not to confuse the announced retail price with a guaranteed resale value. The figure contains approximately 15 grams of 24-karat gold, but its ¥1.54 million asking price also reflects manufacturing, licensing, craftsmanship and collectible positioning. A future secondary-market premium is not guaranteed.
The life-size statues may ultimately be the bigger attraction for most fans: they offer a rare Pokémon photo opportunity without requiring a seven-figure-yen purchase.
