Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Launch Day: What Best Buy Has Now—and What Comes Next
Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration is officially here. The anniversary expansion launches worldwide today, September 16, 2026, and Best Buy is one of the major U.S. retailers carrying launch-day products in stores.
The release has been one of the most anticipated Pokémon TCG drops of the year, but collectors should know that not every 30th Celebration product arrives at the same time. Here is the useful launch-day breakdown.

What Best Buy is carrying for the September 16 launch
Best Buy announced that its stores would begin carrying new Pokémon 30th anniversary products as they release starting September 16. The retailer specifically highlighted the 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box, Poster Collection and Tech Sticker Collection in its anniversary announcement.
Best Buy’s product listing for the Elite Trainer Box also confirms a September 16, 2026 release date.

What is inside 30th Celebration?
The Pokémon Company says the expansion was created to mark three decades of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, mixing new artwork with callbacks to earlier eras of the game.
One of the set’s biggest collecting hooks is Pikachu: every 30th Celebration booster pack contains one of 30 unique Pikachu rare cards. Pokémon says those 30 cards use different illustrations, artists and attacks.
The expansion also includes a separate Classic Collection component built around returning cards from Pokémon TCG history, alongside modern cards and new illustration treatments.

The Elite Trainer Box is a nine-pack product
According to Pokémon’s official product showcase, the standard 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box includes:
- 9 Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration booster packs
- 1 full-art Nidorina promo card
- 65 card sleeves
- 16 foil Basic Energy cards
- Damage-counter dice and a competition-legal coin-flip die
- A plastic coin
- A storage box with six dividers
- A player’s guide
That makes the ETB a very different purchase from later products with different pack counts, so collectors comparing secondary-market prices should compare like-for-like rather than judging boxes only by the 30th Celebration branding.
Do not confuse today’s launch with the Booster Bundle
This is an important date distinction. Best Buy currently lists the 30th Celebration Booster Bundle for October 2, 2026, not September 16. Its listing says the bundle contains six 30th Celebration booster packs.
So if you walk into a retailer today and do not see Booster Bundles, that does not necessarily mean you missed the stock. At least at Best Buy, that SKU has a later posted release date.

Launch-day demand is already producing long lines
Demand is not theoretical. On September 16, reports from Australia described overnight queues and rapid sellouts, while San Antonio media reported a large line outside a Best Buy ahead of the U.S. release. That does not prove every store will sell out, but it is a useful warning that launch-day inventory can vary sharply by location.
For collectors, the safest approach is simple: verify the exact product, retailer and release date before paying a large resale premium. More 30th Celebration products are scheduled beyond the first launch wave, and a missing SKU on September 16 may simply have a later release.
