Pokémon TCG Pocket Deluxe Pack: Mega Arrives September 29 With a Guaranteed Pokémon ex
Pokémon TCG Pocket is getting a new collector-focused expansion on September 29, 2026. Deluxe Pack: Mega brings back cards from the B Series while adding new illustrations and parallel foil treatments—and every four-card pack is guaranteed to contain a Pokémon ex.
The Pokémon Company announced the pack on September 24. For players trying to finish older B Series collections, the important detail is that this is primarily a reissue-focused release rather than a conventional all-new expansion.

Deluxe Pack: Mega release date and time
Deluxe Pack: Mega goes live Tuesday, September 29 at 6:00 p.m. PDT. That is 8:00 p.m. Central and 9:00 p.m. Eastern in the United States, and 1:00 a.m. UTC on September 30.
The pack is limited-time. Pokémon says it will be available through October 29, 2026, so players interested in its reissues should not assume it will remain in the regular pack lineup indefinitely.
- Launch: September 29, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. PDT
- Pack size: Four cards
- Guaranteed pull: At least one Pokémon ex per pack
- Card range: Reissues spanning Mega Rising through Ruler of the Skies
- Limited-time window: Through October 29, 2026
What is actually in Deluxe Pack: Mega?
The expansion includes cards originally introduced from Mega Rising through Ruler of the Skies. Pokémon specifically says every four-diamond card from those expansions is being reissued in Deluxe Pack: Mega.
The four-card packs also include parallel foil cards and cards with new artwork. That means the set has something for two different audiences: players missing functional cards from earlier packs and collectors chasing alternate presentations of cards they may already own.

The official reveal shows new artwork for cards including Mega Charizard X ex, Mega Altaria ex and Mega Lucario ex. However, Pokémon has not yet published the complete Deluxe Pack: Mega card list, so players should avoid treating trailer appearances as a complete checklist.
Should you save Pack Hourglasses for it?
That depends heavily on your collection. A guaranteed Pokémon ex is valuable on paper, but Deluxe Pack: Mega pulls substantially from cards that have already appeared in earlier B Series packs.
For newer players or anyone with major gaps between Mega Rising and Ruler of the Skies, the pack could provide an efficient way to chase missing four-diamond cards and Pokémon ex. Players who already completed most of those expansions may be opening primarily for new illustrations and parallel foils.
It is also worth waiting for the full card pool and published offering rates before making assumptions about the odds of pulling any specific card. A guaranteed ex does not mean a guaranteed specific ex.
Mega Charizard X cosmetics arrive September 30
Pokémon is also adding covers and backdrops featuring Mega Charizard X beginning Wednesday, September 30. These are collection-display customization items rather than additional physical products.

Big Pokémon TCG Pocket changes are coming in late October
The pack announcement also revealed several changes planned for toward the end of October. One of the most useful is a new community decks feature. Players will be able to search decks made public by other users and build those lists if they own the required cards.
Rental decks are changing too. Pokémon says current rental decks will be deleted, but the replacement system will let players rent decks containing cards from the latest booster packs and use them an unlimited number of times in both Solo and Versus Battles. Theme deck lists and deck missions will be discontinued.
Step-up Battles will also be replaced by a new solo-battle structure where difficulty increases as players progress through stages. Pokémon warns that once the change occurs, the current Step-up Battles will no longer be available and remaining first-time rewards and battle tasks from them can no longer be obtained.
Events planned around Deluxe Pack: Mega
Pokémon has outlined several events around the release window, including a parallel foil card Mass Outbreak event from late September into early October, a Mega Garchomp ex Drop Event, and a Wonder Pick event later in October.
A special Ranked Match Season B4b SP is also planned for mid-to-late October. Pokémon says that season will award more rank points than usual, extend the win-streak bonus to a maximum of 10 consecutive wins, and prevent players from losing rank points or dropping rank after defeats.
What collectors should know before launch
- Deluxe Pack: Mega is largely a reissue set, so check your existing B Series collection before spending heavily.
- Every pack guarantees a Pokémon ex, but the complete card pool and specific offering rates matter more if you are chasing one card.
- New artwork and parallel foils create separate collector targets even when the underlying card is a reissue.
- The pack is scheduled to leave after October 29, making its availability window materially different from a permanent expansion.
- Complete any current Step-up Battle first-time rewards or battle tasks you care about before the late-October system replacement.
Bottom line
Deluxe Pack: Mega looks most useful for Pokémon TCG Pocket players who missed cards across the B Series or want new variants of familiar favorites. The guaranteed Pokémon ex gives every four-card pack a clear floor, but collectors should still wait for the complete checklist and offering rates before deciding how many saved resources to commit.
