Pokémon TCG players and collectors have a new October event to put on the calendar. The Pokémon Company has announced that Pokéween 2026 will run from October 1 through October 31 at participating Play! Pokémon Stores, combining local play and trading with a trio of seasonal promo cards.

The headline collectibles are Zubat, Golbat and Crobat promos tied to Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Chaos Rising. A Pokéween sticker sheet is also part of the announced reward lineup.

There is one important detail before making a trip: Pokéween is not a single standardized tournament running on the same schedule everywhere. Pokémon says each store will offer its own activity calendar, so the exact date, format and reward distribution can vary by location.

The official Pokéween window is October 1–31, 2026. Pokémon specifically lists several kinds of activities that local Play! Pokémon Stores may offer:

Pokémon’s announcement highlights three Pokéween promo cards: Zubat, Golbat and Crobat. The cards are based on versions from Mega Evolution—Chaos Rising, giving the promotion a connected evolution-line theme that fits Halloween especially well.

For collectors, the practical takeaway is that these are event rewards rather than ordinary booster-pack pulls, so the best route is to find a participating Play! Independent TCG outlet PokéBeach reports that the cards use a Pikachu pumpkin stamp and a Play! Pokémon watermark. Because those visual details go beyond the wording of Pokémon’s main announcement, collectors should distinguish the officially confirmed event and card lineup from secondary reporting about specific card treatments.

Do you have to enter a tournament?

Not necessarily. Pokémon lists open play and trade sessions alongside tournaments, which means Pokéween is broader than a conventional competitive event. However, the company does not publish one universal participation requirement for every store.

That distinction matters. The October 1–31 window tells you when the campaign is active; it does not mean every store is running Pokéween every day, nor does it guarantee that every reward is available at every session.

Why these promos are worth tracking

For collectors, the appeal is straightforward: Pokéween turns a current TCG evolution line into a seasonal event set. Zubat, Golbat and Crobat naturally fit the Halloween theme, and having all three Pokémon represented gives completion-focused collectors a clear mini-set to pursue.

The event also arrives during Pokémon’s 30th-anniversary year, giving local League communities another reason to gather during an already busy year for the hobby.

That does not automatically make the promos rare or valuable. Pokémon has not announced a total print run in its Pokéween notice, and secondary-market prices immediately around an event can be volatile. Anyone who wants the cards primarily for a collection is better served by checking local participation options first rather than assuming early resale prices reflect long-term value.
