Suri: The Seventh Note Launches October 30 on PS5: Rhythm Gameplay, Editions and What to Know

Suri: The Seventh Note launches October 30, 2026 on PlayStation 5, bringing a rhythm-driven platforming adventure built around music, movement and Indian artistic influences.

Developed by Tathvamasi Studios as part of the PlayStation India Hero Project, the game follows Ajira on a journey across the island of Suri, where timing movement with the world’s rhythm is central to progression.

Why Suri is built around 480 milliseconds

Tathvamasi says the game’s main consecutive beats are spaced at roughly 480 milliseconds. The studio arrived at that timing after testing how much time players need to respond with controller inputs without making the action feel disconnected from the music.

The result is a platformer where jumps, dashes and other movement are designed to work with the soundtrack rather than simply playing over it.

Indian instruments and regional influences shape the soundtrack

The developers say about 80% of the game’s music was recorded with analogue instruments. Different regions of the island draw from different Indian musical traditions; for example, the studio has discussed using a veena for southern areas and drawing on Rajasthan’s musical traditions for desert environments.

The visual world likewise takes inspiration from sources including Rajput forts, Theyyam culture and Himalayan monasteries.

DualSense haptics are part of the rhythm system

The project also uses what the studio calls its Rhythm Haptics Engine. On PS5, DualSense haptic feedback is intended to make the beat something players can feel as well as hear and see, tying controller feedback directly into the rhythm-platforming concept.

Standard vs. Digital Deluxe Edition

The Standard Edition contains the base game. The Digital Deluxe Edition adds the exclusive Chandini skin, the Trials of Yama DLC and three days of early access. PlayStation currently lists a 20% PlayStation Plus preorder discount through launch.

  • Release date: October 30, 2026
  • Platform: PlayStation 5
  • Standard Edition: Base game
  • Digital Deluxe: Base game, Chandini skin, Trials of Yama DLC and three-day early access

A different kind of rhythm game

Suri is notable because rhythm is not being treated as a separate minigame. It governs movement, environmental timing and the feel of the adventure itself. With its Indian-inspired art and music alongside PS5 haptics, it is one of the more unusual platforming releases on the October calendar.
