Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026: PHYSINT Cast, Modern Warfare 4 Trailer and 15 More Reveals

Xbox packed its Tokyo Game Show 2026 broadcast with 17 gameplay reveals and announcements, spanning major franchises, new games from Asian studios and one surprise release. The September 17 showcase included fresh looks at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Persona 4 Revival, Crazy Taxi: World Tour and several upcoming action RPGs before Hideo Kojima closed the show with new PHYSINT news.

Here are the announcements worth knowing and the dates players should put on their calendars.

PHYSINT has its lead: Bill Skarsgård

Hideo Kojima appeared at the end of the broadcast to confirm that Swedish actor and producer Bill Skarsgård will play the lead role in PHYSINT, Kojima Productions’ upcoming action-espionage game published in partnership with Xbox.

Kojima also revealed a new poster featuring Skarsgård alongside Charlee Fraser. Xbox has not announced a release date, so any launch window circulating beyond an official announcement should still be treated as unconfirmed.

Modern Warfare 4 gets a new campaign trailer

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 received a new campaign trailer ahead of its October 23, 2026 launch. Xbox says Campaign Early Access begins October 16 for eligible digital pre-orders.

The campaign continues Captain Price’s story after Modern Warfare III, with the conflict extending across Korea and other locations. The game is scheduled for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, Battle.net, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2.

Shape of Dreams is the surprise Game Pass release

One announcement did not require waiting for a future release date. Shape of Dreams launched on Xbox Series X|S on September 17 and joined Game Pass on day one. The roguelite supports four-player play and cross-play with players on other supported platforms.

Persona 4 Revival and Crazy Taxi brought major franchise updates

Atlus introduced detective Naoto Shirogane in a new Persona 4 Revival character trailer. The remake is scheduled for February 18, 2027 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and cloud, with Game Pass availability announced for launch.

Sega, meanwhile, confirmed Japan as a location in Crazy Taxi: World Tour. The new entry is currently planned for 2027, but Xbox’s announcement did not provide a more specific release date.

Other Xbox TGS 2026 announcements to watch

  • Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember: a new Zuochi boss reveal accompanied news that the Alpha Demo remains available through September 30. The full game launches March 4, 2027.
  • Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement: ArtPlay showed new 2.5D gameplay. The game remains scheduled for 2027.
  • Raji: Kaliyuga: an extended gameplay presentation showed the sequel’s move from the original game’s isometric perspective to a third-person action-adventure format.
  • Once Human: Isles of Abyss: the ocean-focused expansion launches October 22, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S and is included with Game Pass.
  • Edge of Memories: the action JRPG received a November 5, 2026 release date.
  • Hope in the City: the narrative mystery is coming to Xbox and PC on November 10, 2026.
  • Faraday Blues: Serenity Forge premiered a new sci-fi narrative adventure built around character cards, interconnected stories and branching outcomes.
  • GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT: new gameplay showed the anime-based survival action RPG, scheduled for Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2027.
  • Bloomwalker: new footage highlighted its Pocket Dimension building and customization system; Xbox also confirmed the game is part of the Ni no Kuni universe.

What matters after the showcase

The immediate takeaway is that Xbox used TGS for more than distant teasers. Shape of Dreams is playable now, the Wo Long 2 Alpha Demo has a September 30 cutoff, and several major releases now have firm dates stretching from October 2026 into early 2027.

For players tracking the busiest dates, the next milestones are October 22 for Once Human: Isles of Abyss, October 23 for Modern Warfare 4, November 5 for Edge of Memories, and February 18, 2027 for Persona 4 Revival.
